Celebration marks the opening of the Symphony of the Southwest’s 70th season with a program that reflects both the orchestra’s distinguished legacy and its enduring artistic vision. Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Beethoven’s Egmont Overture offer stirring expressions of nobility and triumph, while Holmès’ Allegro Feroce and Sibelius’ Finlandia bring passion, brilliance, and grandeur to the first half. 

Following intermission, a string quartet drawn from the orchestra’s principal players will offer an inspiring musical interlude. 

The event then culminates in Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story”, a masterful fusion of symphonic sophistication and theatrical vitality. Together, these iconic works celebrate the power of music to inspire, unite, and elevate across generations.
