About Us

Under the baton of Maestro Cal Stewart Kellogg, Symphony of the Southwest is the East Valley community's classical music source for symphonic and chamber concerts presented to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Since 1956, the symphony has been committed to bringing culture, education and beauty to all those we touch.

Values

  • We value classical music repertoire as the basis of the music we perform and hand-down for future generations.
  • We value the power of live, orchestral music to educate and touch people’s lives with beauty, inspiration, education and entertainment.
  • We value the talents and time of our musicians, staff and board who have dedicated the majority of their lives to the power of music.
  • We value people of all ages including families and children from diverse backgrounds as our concert supporters.
  • We value our community partners, from other registered 501c3 arts and community non-profits, to Valley businesses, small and blue chip alike, as meaningful and beneficial relationships.

Our Programs

Our regular season consists of classical and pops concerts performed at the world-class Mesa Arts Center. In addition to our performances in Mesa, SSW and SSW Chamber groups have presented encore performances in numerous East and West Valley locations.

Each year, as a part of our community outreach, Symphony of the Southwest stages the beloved Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev for about 5,000 East Valley public and charter school children.
